Vary your poses

At some point, you might also want to try some new perspective. Sitting down instead of simply standing can often help to create a totally different atmosphere in a photo.

When sitting down, try to have one knee up and bend while the other leg is flat on the ground. Also lean back a little supporting you with one hand.

You can either cut off the ground you are sitting on in your photo or you include it, depending on whether you want to keep the focus on the background only like if there is a lot to see, or you rather want to have you in front of a uni coloured background like the sea. In this case you should include whatever you are sitting on.

Before you decide on how to take the picture at a certain location, you should look at the spot carefully. How high is the fence or wall? Is it allowed to sit on it? Is the surface dirty (you clearly don`t want to end up having bird poo on your trousers for the rest of the day...)? Is the ground even so that you won`t hurt yourself when you land after a jump?

If possible, you can surely always do all different options, this is the best way to ensure you have the most amazing photos. In case it should be prohibited to sit on a wall or to lean over it, you should obviously follow the rules. If the ground is uneven or slippery, better don`t jump here. The same is for places that are very crowded. Standing is always the easiest option that does not need a lot of preparation and timing. However, if there is just a quite low wall that does not even reach up until your hip, it is tricks to stand there beautifully and get all of this into the photo. As such, I`d recommend here to sit on it, as you can see it in the photo in this paragraph.
